Why Study Engineering?

There are almost 3000 engineering colleges in India offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in Engineering. 330 of these are Government engineering Colleges; the rest, almost 2700, are private engineering colleges. A lot of them are old and globally acclaimed. The most common entrance required to study for an engineering degree in India is Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and JEE Advanced. Apart from JEE, some of the institutes also conduct separate entrance exams for admission such as BITS, VITEEE, OUCET, WBJEE, etc. The course is constituted by a mix of classroom studies which includes lectures, seminars, practicals, projects/research work and industrial training. The first year of study is common for all BTech students.
